Alaska Part 1

So, here we have been in Alaska for about a week, we have been go go goin!! But you would too if you had a week in Alaska, so much to see!! So, we had 2 days off when we got here and my friend Joel, our company manager from last year, was here to visit and take in the sights. He rented a car and away we go. We drove outside of Anchorage about an hour to see the Portage Glacier. We drove along a windy road next to a body of water with mountains all around you. It was very overcast and it was hard to get a perspective of how high the mountains were, but the clouds would open up and the sights were incredible!! We enjoyed the views of the lake by the glacier and went on our way. Next stop was a conservation area where they lots of animals to view. We saw caribou, musk ox, bison, owls, deer, and moose!! It was great, very white. Then we went to a resort town for some food and I had reindeer chili, a little gamey, but good nonetheless!! We ended the day with beer and good times, more on Alaksa to come. . .

Alaska!

So, hey friends, sorry it has been a couple of days. Well, over the past few days we visited Cupertino, CA which is south of San Francisco (we stopped for a photo op at the Golden Gate Bridge - beautiful), then back up to Medford, OR. The landscape is Oregon is really pretty, very hilly with lots of green everywhere. It reminds me of Maine or the North East. The we had a 5 hour bus ride to Portland where we flew out to Alaska, it was a long day yesterday, but not at all unbearable. I am home in about a week and can't wait to see a lot of you!! I also got pictures from Brian, so you can see him . . .
